The Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication at Capilano University in North Vancouver has a reputation for industry-ready graduates. Entry to the Bachelor of Design is competitive, and applicants must submit a portfolio and other documents through the online portal SlideRoom.

“When I make paintings, I use palette paper to mix the color I need. Often I find the leftover palette very interesting to look at. They don’t illustrate a story or a narrative as most images do, but they are beautiful in their own way. In this triptych, I cut out my old palette paper and compose them together without attempting to produce anything representational. So the results turn out to be very literal and visual as the color strokes don’t seem to pretend to something else.”

Note: Submissions received after Wednesday, January 22, 2020 will be considered in the Late Admission Period.
Slideroom reopens February 14, 2020 and closes April 15, 2020. No submissions for Fall 2020 (IDEA Grad 2024) will be accepted after Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Important Note: Candidates must first apply to Capilano University at capilanou.ca/admissions before applying to the Bachelor of Design.
