IDEA School of Design at Capilano University in North Vancouver has a reputation for industry-ready graduates. Entry to the Bachelor Of Design In Visual Communication and Interaction Design Diploma program is competitive, and applicants must submit a portfolio and other documents through the online portal SlideRoom.
Applications for Fall 2022 open Friday, November 4, 2022.

Portfolio submission: “Caracal Scratchboard” by Neeka Yazdani (IDEA Grad 2026)
One of the pieces I am most proud of; I completed this piece with an X-ACTO knife on a scratchboard. I learned about animal anatomy and contrast the most in this piece. I demonstrated my strong sense of realism in this piece.
“Connect with current IDEA students or IDEA grads. Also, have some conviction! If you don’t believe in yourself, who will?”

This was inspired by a visit to the Seattle museum of flight. This was drawn with a felt fine-liner pen and alcohol based copic markers.

The BACHELOR OF DESIGN IN VISUAL COMMUNICATION is a four-year undergraduate degree with a variety of career outcomes in the creative field. Students can specialize in branding, Illustration or interactive design in upper years. Early Applications for September 2023 will open on November 8, 2022, and close on January 25, 2023. Late Applications will open on January 27, 2023, and close on April 10, 2023.
The INTERACTION DESIGN DIPLOMA is a two-year program with career outcomes in the field of digital product design and user experience. The focus is on creativity, design thinking, and problem-solving. Applications for September 2023 will open on November 8, 2022, and close on June 6, 2023.
