2018 is a momentous year for both Capilano University and the IDEA School of Design. As the University celebrates its 50th anniversary, this past spring’s IDEA graduates were the first to embark on their creative careers armed with a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication. We’re proud of them, and all they’ve accomplished to get here.

What was for many years a successful 3-year diploma program has, since 2014, transitioned into a 4-year degree, with an ongoing emphasis on career preparation. Our reputation within the graphic arts industry is an enduring one, and provides our graduates a vital link to rewarding career pathways.

Our curriculum is continually evolving, to reflect current professional standards and practice, and to anticipate new trends and opportunities. Our degree allows students to specialize in branding, illustration or interactive design, and offers a flexible curriculum to meet individual student goals.

To find out more about the IDEA School of Design, please visit our website, capilanou.ca/idea and our blog, ideaschoolofdesign.com. We hold Open Studio Days every November and February, and we’re happy to arrange a private tour during the rest of the year.
