I’ve been enjoying ‘Good Pain’ by Yoke Lore this summer. Music was a huge inspiration to me when preparing my portfolio so it was really tough to choose an anthem for myself. The song I chose, ‘Good Pain’, is about how it feels great to do hard things sometimes. A fitting sentiment for the start of a new degree, no?

It took me a while to choose a song because I don’t have a favorite one, but ultimately I chose a song that conjures a lot of nostalgia in me. The song is called: Amor Eterno by Rocío Dúrcal. My mom used to sing it a lot when I was growing up, so it means a lot to me. Since I mostly listened to my mom singing it, I’d actually never watched the music video until now.

So I really enjoy listening to music that makes you feel stress-free. That's why I'd have to say “Pass By” by Pell is one of my favourite songs. This song simply de-stresses me whenever I hear it. It reminds me that anything I am worried about that day or that week isn't permanent, I don't have to focus all of my energy and attention on it because it will simply pass by.

The Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication is a four-year degree program offered by the IDEA School of Design. The focus of the Bachelor of Design at Capilano University is career preparation. The Bachelor of Design allows students to specialize in branding, illustration or interactive design, and offers a flexible curriculum to meet individual student goals.
