Congratulations to Haluka Yagi (IDEA Grad 2021) for winning ADCC Student Competition Finalist in Graphic Design with 'Roundabout Hostel'.

Mentors: Car Beddice, Janice Callangan, Shanene Lau
About the Project by Haluka Yagi (IDEA Grad 2021)
In the spring term of year 3, we have a valuable opportunity to develop our skills and knowledge under an industry professional's creative direction. I had the chance to be mentored by the Cossette team, consisting of Car Beddice and IDEA Alumni Janice Callangan and Shanene Lau.
I learned a lot from this experience, from getting a better insight into the industry to learning more about brand development. The most significant experience for me was my mentors' emphasis on the initial ideation stage; it had been a while where I put a substantial amount of time purely on ideation. The creative ruts where every logo sketch started to look the same was rough, but the 1-or-100 rule we're taught at IDEA was real! It was a good reminder that I needed to go through quantity to lead me to quality.
A big thanks to my mentors for the guidance and fun experience, and Judy for organizing this fantastic opportunity!
